The Professional and Personal Life of Enrique Peña Nieto

Enrique Peña Nieto is adored for his movie star looks, earning him the nickname of “a male Barbie” or the “Beckham of the PRI party”. It is safe to say that prevailing opinion holds him the top contender among the candidates. Nieto presents a formidable, nail-biting challenge to the other presidentiables.

The official campaign period for Mexico's 2012 Presidential Elections does not start until April but Peña Nieto's momentum and popularity see no signs of dwindling down. He is an expert in the theater of politics and creates a tremendous impact on his audience when he speaks before his constituents. Nieto also happens to be an extremely charismatic person, with an innate magnetism.

Televisa is often named as a conspirator in Nieto's seemingly unassailable popularity. He reportedly paid the mass media giant large sums of money over the last five years to advertise the accomplishments of his previous administration in the state of Mexico. Critics and opponents claim that the alleged deal is the reason for Televisa's support of the man.

Notably enough, these claims came out after Nieto and Angelica Rivera confessed to their relationship. The woman happens to be a superstar of Mexican TV. Nieto eventually married Rivera, some time after his previous wife passed away.

Pena Nieto and Pretelini had three children, namely Paulina, Alejandro and Nicole. It was while Nieto was functioning as a governor for the state of Mexico that his first wife died. This made Nieto one of the most popular single Mexicans in the country.

But Nieto is not simply a man known for his pull on the ladies. The man's popularity is also partly attributable to his work in finding out what voters require and his efforts in filling those requirements. He placed infrastructure and public work projects as high priority items in his political agenda.

Nieto is known for having held large parties or gatherings during inaugural dates of the resulting public works. The result is that the prevailing view of Nieto paints him as a character who, contrary to other politicians, actually does what he says he shall do. Detractors do say, though, that the lavish inaugurations for his public works were even more expensive than the actual public works.

Nieto also got some flak for something that happened in the Guadalajara Book Fair. In the fair, the politician could not produce certain pertinent details about his alleged favorite books. Nieto was noted to have said that he usually forgot these details, being more interested in the tome's contents.

His detractors basically had a field day when this happened. The issue was further ignited when his eldest daughter, Paulina, labeled her father's critics as a bunch of morons who only criticize him because they envy his position. The incident remains, even now, one of the less than wonderful points in Nieto's record, for all that he acknowledges it himself.

Enrique Peña Nieto has noted that his opponents tend to take his words out of context. Still, he has the strongest presidential bid to date. Even as the other candidates have much longer and extensive political experience than him, he remains a tough contender because he is the one who will bring in the votes.
